Other: Forms six-sided crystals. Occurs in a variety of colors from clear to yellow, brown and violet. Also exists in microcrystalline (cryptocrystalline) form as flint, agate, and chalcedony. Combines with water to form opal.
All forms of quartz are harder than glass.
